VITAMIN PILLS DO THEY WORK
By: Bart van der Molen

All natural vitamins are organic food substances found only in living things, that is, plants and animals. The body cannot manufacture or synthesize vitamins. They must be supplied by the diet or in dietary supplements. Vitamins are essential to the normal functioning of our bodies. They are necessary for growth, vitality, health, general well being, and for the prevention and cure of many health problems and diseases.

Most people think that they consume enough vitamins, but truth be known is most cases we come up short. The quick fix normally is then a pill, a lot of people think vitamins pills can replace food, and they cannot! In fact, vitamins pills cannot be assimilated without ingesting food. That is why they should be taken with a meal. Vitamins regulate metabolism, help convert fat and carbohydrates into energy, and assist in forming bone and tissue. The best sources of vitamins is food and not pills.

Most of us are still confused which vitamin does what for us; all we know is that we need them. Vitamin C is probably the best known, because it fights off the flu, big companies knows this, so nearly all flu tablets contain vitamin c and is emphasis how much it contains. Little do we know that vitamin A is an other great fighter against the common cold.

Ok we know that we need vitamins but our eating habit is poor in most cases we just need a quick meal because we are hungry, fast food restaurants aren’t all over the world doing massive sales because they are just so dame healthy, its because they are the answer to our quick fix, so add a few vitamin pills and in our mind we are ok. But what do we really know about our vitamin supplement, usually we go for the multi vitamin, you know, cover all the bases. Lets take a closer look a the vitamin pill, vitamin pill is usually a mixture of synthetic and natural products mostly 95% synthetic and 5% natural when I say synthetic I mean chemicals, you my be surprised to know that vitamin E chemical compound comes from petroleum, turpentine and sugar, great if you want to clean your paint brush you can use vitamin E tablet. Studies have also shown that synthetic E blocks the absorption of the natural vitamin E from food. We are often mislead into thinking what is good for us is actually bad, most countries allow a product that only contains 5% natural vitamins labeled as 100% natural. Check the label carefully, if says 100% natural vitamin E then all of it should come from soybeans.
